Summary

Manages/pursues multiple research projects with supervision; participates in the design and execution of experiments; contributes in writing manuscripts; oversees the overall inventory; maintains Standard Operating Procedures under the guidance of Head of the Research Unit; and trains and supervises students and junior technical staff.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Conducts various types of experiments and perform complex test in the laboratory.

2. Analyses and evaluates research data and provides interpretations requiring significant knowledge of a specialized area of research.

3. Assists in planning and designing experiments.

4. Monitors overall laboratory inventory and supplies as well as maintains experimental records and protocols.

5. Ensures work progresses according to plan and informs supervisor if problems arise.

6. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of a scientist.

7. Supervises students and junior technical staff working on assigned research projects.

8. Follows all laboratory safety rules and regulations.

9. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.

10. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.

11. Performs any other related duties as assigned

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree of Science from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.

Experience Required

Six (6) years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree or eight (8) years with Bachelor Degree required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

- Evidence of excellent level of technical, managerial, communication and computer skills and accomplishments that need to be described and scored by immediate supervisor in the Scientific Scoring Form.

-Evidence of publications as a first and/or co-author.

-Proven records of presenting original data at least once in a national or international meeting is preferable.

-Evidence of mentoring ability and supervisory skills to students and junior technical staff.

-Proof of working knowledge in safety measures such as biological, radiological, and/or chemical in form of certificates. If not available, then a letter from the immediate supervisor stating the candidate working knowledge in the relevant field
