Summary

Responsible to provides quality care for a wide range of developmental disorders, which may include: Developmental Disabilities such as: Autism Spectrum Disorders, cerebral palsy, Spina Bifida, Intellectual Disability and visual and hearing impairment in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Hospital policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Provides outpatient care, teaching and support to children and families with developmental, behavioral, physical or communication needs.

 2. Attention and behaviour Disorder include: a DHD and associated condition, Developmental delay in speech, language motor skills and thinking abilities learning disorder, regulatory disorders including sleep disorders, feeding problems and discipline difficulties, Ticks Tourette Syndrome. 

3. Conductes developmental evaluation for children who have global developmental delay or specific delay in one of the developmental areas.

 4. Use special instruments and qualitative assessment methods, including standardized test, to analyse and diagnose the nature and extent of impairment. 

5. Develops management plan for children with disabilities and collaborate with other professionals to ensure the provision of optimum care for children with disabilities and their families.

 6. Supports patients with developmental and behavioral difficulties by working closely with preschools, schools, and other agencies involved with developmental care and education. 

7. Organises and supervises the provision of community awareness and training events as part of the organization team when needed.

 8. Participates in research activities in the field of Autism and developmental disabilities for related fields. 


Education

Graduation from a medical school in good standing, completion of required period of postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.

Experience Required

At least seven (7) years of training in specialty or subspecialty plus postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years’ experience in the subspecialty is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

? Updated knowledge of evidence base evaluation methods and intervention approaches for children with developmental disabilities.
