Summary

Repairs or rebuilds upholstered furniture. Fabricates and installs curtains.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Repairs or rebuilds upholstered furniture using hand tools.

2. Removes covering and padding from furniture. Replaces it with new padding.

3. Measures and cuts new covering materials. Uses sewing machine to stitch fabric covering together

4. Covers furniture with fabric material by tacking or sewing. Tacks or sews ornamental fabric to furniture.

5. Prepares materials according to verbal instructions or blueprints.

6. Fabricates and installs curtains

7. Calculates costs of materials and time required for completion of work. Maintains records of work performed and materials used.

8. Follows all Hospital's related policies and procedures.

9. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.

Education

Associate Degree/ Diploma fromtechnical institution with related technical field, or High School withVocational Training is required.

Experience Required

One (1) year isrequired with the Associate Degree/ Diploma, or two (2) years of relatedtechnical experience with High School is required.
