Summary

Performs Pharmacy related functions such as preparation and distribution of regular and chemotherapy drugs and intravenous admixtures. Assumes responsibility for replenishment of stock in the automated dispensing machines.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Performs professional work in the preparation, filling, compoundingof sterile and non sterile medications as applicable to the area of practice.
2. Assigns and schedules staff incoordination with the senior pharmacist/ Manager.
3. Restocks, operates, and trouble shoots pharmacy roboticequipment as applicable according to different pharmacy areas.
4. Maintains control and security of all medications includingcontrolled, narcotic substances and supplies. Maintains dispensing and recordkeeping as per laws and regulations.
5. Pre-packages tablets, capsules, and oral liquid medicationsutilizing available repackaging machines /robotic equipment. Maintains completerequired records and appropriate labelling procedures. 
6. Supervises,precepts, checks, and monitors medication related activities/performance of lower/juniorpharmacists, residents, trainees/students with guidance and support from seniorpharmacist as needed. Participates inconducting performance evaluation for lower/juniorpharmacists, residents, trainees/students.
7. Orders/Maintains proper and sufficient inventory of drugs andsupplies with regular monitoring of medication expiration dates.  Prepares expired medications for disposal andcompletes electronic disposal request in a timely manner.
8. Distributes medications to nursing units when required.
9. Performs nursing unit/clinics inspection, and outdatespharmacy stocks/supplies on monthly basis as per assignment. Maintains andsigns approved forms and records accordingly.
10. Maintains a clean working environment including hoods andcounter tops.
11. Consults and seeks direction/assistance/guidance frompharmacists II / pharmacists I/ senior pharmacist /manager withdifficult/unusual problems, questions, or actions.
12. Participates in divison’s education and developmentactivities as well as area specific requirements for professional and clinicaldevelopment and growth.
13. Follows all Hospital’s relatedPolicies and Procedures.
14. Participates in self andothers' education, training and development, as applicable.

Education

Diploma in Pharmacy isrequired.

Experience Required

Four (4) years of relatedexperience is required.
