Summary
Demonstrates technical ability in safety/loss prevention, fire protection and emergency responses including firefighting and safety inspections.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Carries out all related fire alarm responses and firefighting requirements using equipment available and proper methods. Responds to all other emergencies such as elevator rescues, chemicals spills, water leaks, etc., prepares required reports as assigned.
2. Identifies the common causes of fires and on job accidents and their prevention based on regulations, codes and/or standards. Ensures all accidents are reported, investigated, evaluated and controlled.
3. Evaluates building and work areas life safety requirements, conducts facility safety surveys. Inspects worksites, evaluates and issues work permits requests.
4. Conducts and assists safety inspections and surveys for all Hospital work areas. Reports and recommends remedial actions.
5. Performs inspection and testing of portable fire equipment available, including maintaining records, reporting of available fire, safety and protection equipment. Performs, supervises adjustments, repair of fire and safety equipment and performs refilling duties. Informs superior of defective equipment.
6. Participates in determining training needs for subordinates.
7. Assists in scheduling, supervises and conducts fire drills.
8. Maintains chronological log of all activities and incidents, prepares weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports, assists in preparation of annual reports.
9. Performs and supervises emergency stand by duties to ensure compliance with safety policies and practices.
10. Follows supervisor’s instructions for other duties that benefit the safety program.
Education
Bachelor's or Associate Degree/ Diploma in any related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Three (3) years of related experience with Bachelor’s, or five (5) years with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.

? Ability to work on shift basis.
? Knowledge of international fire and safety standards and codes.
? Valid driving license is required.
