Summary

Performs radiation surveys and monitoring.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assists with patients receiving radioactive isotopes.
  2. Provides special preparation of patient rooms, makes radiation measurement of patients, records measurements, and assures proper patient room decontamination.
  3. Collects, packages, and mails dosimetry badges. Receives badges after reading and maintains individual records of dosages.
  4. Maintains records for all radiation measuring instruments. Calibrates instruments.
  5. Conducts radiological surveys as required in laboratory areas, and on radioactive packages used in nuclear medicine.
  6. Assists with radioactive waste disposal.
  7. Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan preferred.
  8. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  9. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development as applicable.

Education

Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree/ Diploma in technical or other related scientific discipline from a recognized institution is required.

Experience Required

One (1) years of related experience with Bachelor’s or three (3) years with Associate Degree/ Diploma is required.
