Summary

Plans and administers Occupational Therapy (OT) programs to patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Rehabilitates patients within the scope of the OT program.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Assesses patients to determine level of function. Establishes treatment goals and administers appropriate OT procedures.

2. Liaises with referring physician and other professionals regarding patient’s treatment program.

3. Develops, improves, sustains or restores skills in activities of daily livings.

4. Identifies and facilitates engagement of meaningful and healthy occupations.

5. Educates the patient, family, or caregiver in carrying out appropriate non-skilled interventions.

6. Consults with groups, programs, organizations, or communities to provide community-based services.

7. Participates in conferences with physicians, nurses, and allied medical personnel relating to the physical, emotional, and socio-economic problems affecting the health and welfare of patients.

8. Reports need for new supplies, maintenance or repairs of equipment to Service Supervisor.

9. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.

10. Follows all Hospital's related policies and procedures.

11. Performs any other related duties as assigned.

 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy is required.

Experience Required

*Grade 08:

Two (2) years of related experience is required. 

*Grade 09:

-Four (4) years as an Occupational Therapist, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.

-Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.

-Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
