Summary
Assists in reviewing all medical referrals received by Patient Acceptance Services (PAS) via fax, emails and hand-carried by walk-in patients and ensures immediate processing
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Reviews all new insured/ Non-insured medical referrals received thru the Hospital systems, email and hand delivered referrals.
2. Reviews medical information of Insured/ Non-insured patients already in the system to determine continuing needs for tertiary care.
3. Oversees the department performance by utilizing a set of key performance indicators.
4. Oversees the department daily operation and activities.
5. Follow-up rejected pre-authorization for Insured / Non-insured patients and make proper justifications.
6. Follow-up the rejected invoices from Insurance or company, and make sure proper justification
7. Recommends further care of facilitate discharge of Insured/ Non-insured patients in coordinating with treating physician and other department.
8. Monitors all procedures related to approve referrals from Hospital subsystems and outside.
9. Maintains liaison with concern departments to resolve problems.10. Submits periodic reports of activities as requested.
11. Participates in Department and Hospital committees as assigned.
Education
Graduate from an accredited Medical School (MD) is required.
Experience Required
Five (5) years of related experience, including three (3) years as a physician is preferred.
