Summary

Leads and assumes responsibility for the planning, organizing, facilitation, implementation, and provision of quality initiatives, quality and performance improvement of assigned service.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Oversees the successful achievement of the Facilities Management strategic goals, related to quality and performance indicators as directed.

2. Coordinates the functions of the quality and Performance Improvement (PI) activities of the Facilities Management through collaboration with the department’s Head, as assigned.
3. Identifies quality improvement outcome indicators using international benchmarking standards data.
4. Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating Facilities Management annual performance improvement plan.
5. Develops and oversees on-site evaluation, procurement, and installation of new equipment inspection of all equipment, and ensuring that all equipment is maintained within the required JCIA accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with quality assurance and safety policies.
6. Develops the PI plan, quality assurance, and improvement in line with the Facilities Management mission, vision, and provision of services.
7. Assists with the preliminary diagnosis of equipment problems, taking equipment out of services as required, and/or coordinates preventive maintenance and/or corrective actions with relevant manufacturers to ensure continued operation, resolution and/or closure, decreased downtime, and compliance with maintenance guidelines.
8. Participates, facilitates in the Hospital-wide performance and quality improvement activities, and manage quality assurance and performance improvement indicators related to Facilities Management issues and initiatives.
9. Promotes a safe environment and safe practices and compliance with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of infections.
10. Maintains awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, andmaterials. Leads and coordinates the achievement of cost-efficiency saving in Facilities Management, as directed.
11. Conducts educational/training sessions at the departments under the Facilities Management on quality issues and improvement as assigned.
12. Collaborates with department Heads in identifying areas for improvement and in developing initiatives to address improvement. Facilities and support PI projects requiring multi-disciplinary or divisional participation.
13. Prepares and conducts presentations on PI and QA activities to all relevant services within the group to identify educational needs and promote PI tools and related knowledge.
14. Networks with other Hospital areas to identify opportunities to improve joint issues. Assists in organizing stakeholders into work groups, and supports team activities.
15. Prepares reports that support decision-making for improving management, technical and education outcomes within the Facilities Management. Tracks and trends quality data, and provides specific reports as needed. 

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree Quality Management or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

Three (3) years of related experience with Master’s, or five (5) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification, or international equivalent is preferred.
