Summary
Performs imaging procedures utilizing computerized tomography imaging scanners.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews exam orders and protocols, clarify with supervisors,and prepare for exams as necessary.
- Explains procedures to patients, prepare equipment, contrastmedia, and position patients safely.
- Adjusts and operates CT imaging equipment, set controls, andassist with contrast media injections.
- Monitors the patient's condition during and after the scanto ensure safety and comfort.
- Retrieves and process patient information in the proper formatfor radiologist interpretation or archiving.
- Evaluates the quality of completed tests, document allstudies, and record necessary data for diagnosis.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance, report malfunctions,and conduct quality control checks.
- Cleans equipment and rooms, restore supplies for future use,and ensure a safe, prepared environment.
- Complies with the Radiation Safety Rules and Regulations ofthe Hospital in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other National orInternational Regulatory bodies.
- Applies ALARA principle Role within the section practice forall procedures.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree inRadiological Sciences/Technology for Saudi Nationals or Graduate from anaccredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years) for non-Saudi isrequired.
Experience Required
Grade 08:
Two (2) years of related experience withBachelor’s Degree, or four (4) years with programs is required.
Grade 9:
- Four (4) years as Computed Tomography Technologist, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Current Registrationfrom country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) isrequired.
- Registrationwith American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent fornon-Saudis is required.
