Summary

Performs imaging procedures utilizing magnetic resonance scanners.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Reviews exam orders and protocols, clarify questions with supervisors, and prepare for exams as needed.
  2. Explains procedures to patients, prepare equipment, supplies, contrast media, and medications.
  3. Adjusts and operate MRI equipment to scan designated areas, ensuring proper image quality.
  4. Monitors patient safety and comfort during the scan, retrieve and process data for interpretation or archiving.
  5. Assess completed tests for quality and completeness, and document all studies performed.
  6. Performs routine equipment maintenance, report malfunctions, and perform quality control checks.
  7. Participates in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education; assist in training and supervising students and interns.
  8. Evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness. Documents all studies performed
  9. Adheres to section policies, radiation safety regulations, and apply ALARA principles for all procedures

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology Sciences/Radiological technology is required.

Experience Required

Grade 08:

Two (2) years of related experiences is required.

 

Grade 09: 

  • Four (4) years as a MRI Technologist at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
  • Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.                                                                               

Other Requirements(Certificates)

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Registration in Radiography with American Registry of Radiographic Technologist, the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, or equivalent required for non-Saudis is required.
