Summary
Manages the overall operations and day-to-day work of Environmental Operations, and ensures the high quality of the provided services at the Hospital.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Establishes work procedures and quality standards and ensures that they are maintained.
2. Plans and develops work schedules to ensure optimum utilization of the sections resources. Assigns subordinate staff to complete tasks.
3. Ensures that assignments are completed appropriately and as scheduled. Conducts inspection of the Hospital facilities to ensure cleanliness, evaluates deficiencies in the established standards and takes corrective action.
4. Ensures that subordinates receive appropriate training in housekeeping practices using published practices.
5. Tests and evaluates new methods and products for environmental cleaning, systems, supplies and equipment and makes recommendations for purchase.
6. Maintains a high level of self-upgrade on Environmental Service and related issues and attends related seminars and exhibitions as required.
Education
Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Health, or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Grade 11:
Five (5) years of related experience with Master’s, or seven (7) years with Bachelor’s Degree, including two (2) years in a seniority position is required.
Grade 12:
Seven (7) years of related experience with Master’s, or nine (9) years with Bachelor’s Degree, including four (4) years of (Grade 11) experience is required.
