Performs a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological testing in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain accurate data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
1. Ensures all work to be completed and reported promptly. Maintains the computerized Laboratory Information System for the subsection.
2. Ensures that optimum levels of supplies are available to provide uninterrupted services; maintains an ordering and supply inventory system.
3. Assists in the development of new methodologies available to provide uninterrupted services.
4. Performs water and bacteriological tests, as per established laboratory standards, and maintaining quality control of the subsection.
5. Assists the Section's Supervisor in ongoing employee performance appraisal. Counsels subordinates to improve performance. Orients, trains, provides continuing education, and guides lower graded personnel, other Laboratory personnel and students.
6. Assists the Section's Supervisor in the evaluation of potential employment candidates. Implements and maintains appropriate Laboratory safety procedures and practices.
7. Comply with the section policies, procedures and protocols and follow the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA and other international accreditation agencies standards.
8. Performs Technical duties as assigned, including weekends, night shifts, and on-call coverage.
9. Participates in, contributes to quality improvement activities, Investigate incident reports, and implement associated corrective action. Maintains equipment, repairs logs, and equipment operation, and maintains repairs records of the subsection according to accreditation agencies.
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or other related discipline is required.
Three (3) years of related experience is required.
