Summary

Coordinates the provision ofeducational resources to provide safe, patient and family focused quality carein accordance with the American Nurses Association and Nursing AdministrationScope & Standards of Practice. Promotes quality nursing practice bymanaging, facilitating, and evaluating educational programs and outcomes inarea(s) of responsibility and specialization utilizing the professionalpractice framework. Functions within the ethical and legal framework, includingthe integration of the GCC Code of Ethics and trans-cultural principles.Responsible for the performance management of Clinical Instructors. Coordinatesthe provision of educational resources to support the achievement of theNursing Affairs (NA) strategic goals.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1.  Assessesclinical practice needs utilizing unit specific data, behavioural competenciesand evidence based practice relating to specialty area, develops strategies andeducational plans including cost benefit analyses that demonstrates improvementin patient care outcomes.
  2. Designsevidence-based curriculum that includes critical and reflective thinking,Hospital’s vision and mission, and NA’s vision, mission, values and guidingprinciples.
  3. Evaluates,modifies, implements and manages evidence based educational programs, strategiesand assessment methods.
  4. Evaluatesexternally produced curriculum and writes recommendations for suitability tointernal implementation.
  5. Participatesin academic curriculum reviews from requesting university-based schools ofnursing.
  6. Identifies,implements and evaluates innovative models of education and training to supportchanges in practice environments.
  7. Coordinateseducational plans in collaboration with the specialty area Program Director andother stakeholders.
  8. Participatesin the orientation of new staff, nursing students, nurse interns, new graduatenurses and other healthcare professionals. Promotes a suitable learningenvironment for all learners.
  9. Supportsthe recruitment of staff and assists in developing competence and performance.Acts as a mentor for new staff as they develop competence. Participates instaff retention across assigned area as well as areas of responsibility.

Education

Master’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.

Experience Required

Six (6) years with Master’s Degree, or eight (8) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.
