Summary
Produces a high standard radiographic images utilizing digital radiography equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews exam orders, protocols, and clarify with senior staff to prepare for exams.
- Follows hospital identification policy to ensure accurate patient identification, explain procedures, and prepare equipment and supplies.
- Positions patients, adjust immobilizing and shielding devices for accuracy, comfort, and minimized radiation exposure.
- Selects appropriate settings for each projection and monitor the patient’s condition during and after the procedure to ensure safety and comfort.
- Retrieves patient data, process it in the correct format for radiologist interpretation or archiving.
- Assess the quality and completeness of completed tests, and document all studies performed.
- Performs quality control on equipment, report malfunctions, and clean equipment and rooms for future use.
- Assists in training and supervising students, interns, and trainees, and participate in ongoing education and development.
- Follows section policies, quality improvement programs, radiation safety regulations, and apply ALARA principles in all procedures
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program for North Americans, or Graduate from KFSH Radiography program is required.
Experience Required
Grade 08:
Two (2)years of related experience with Bachelor’s, or four (4) years with programs is required.
Grade 09:
- Four (4) years as Technologist, Radiography, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
- Registration in Radiography with American Registry of Radiographic Technologists or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or equivalent is required for non-Saudis.
