Summary

Performs imaging procedures with emphasis on leadership in scheduling, quality control, new staff, and student training.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Ensures proper work standards in Ultrasound Services (US). Assists with the development and implementation of new techniques and investigative procedures.
  2. Performs US diagnostic procedures.
  3. Assists in maintaining adequate inventory. Ensures that equipment is maintained and documents equipment down time and repair
  4. Assists with the proper orientation and training of new employees. Participates in in-service and continuing education and in the PI program.
  5. Assists in their training and supervises students, interns, and trainees.
  6. Assists with the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures for the section, department, and Hospital.
  7. Complies with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Follow the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
  8. Complies with the Radiation Safety Rules and Regulations of the Hospital in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other National or International Regulatory bodies
  9. Applies ALARA principle Role within the section practice for all procedures

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological Science/ Technology required for Saudi’s Nationals or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years ) for non-Saudi is required.

Experience Required

Grade 09:

Four (4) years ofrelated experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or six (6) years with programs is required.

 

Grade 10:

  • Four (4) years of experience as a Senior Technologist,Ultrasound, or (Grade 09) related experience is required.
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) forthe last four (4) years.
  • One-hundred(100) cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates)

-Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required. 

-Registration with American Registry of  Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or equivalent is required for non-Saudis.
