Summary
Plans and administers Physical Therapy (PT) programs to patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Rehabilitates patients within the scope of the PT program.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Assesses patients to determine level of function.
- Establishes treatment goals and administers appropriate PT procedures.
- Observes any unusual reactions, documents treatments and patient progress, and ensures that supervisor is informed of relevant patient information progress.
- Liaises with physician regarding patient progress and modifies treatment goals in accordance with patient progress.
- Teaches and demonstrates PT programs to patients, family members and provides information about therapy procedures to nurses and new employees.
- Assists Senior Physical Therapist with protocol development in assigned areas.
- Oversees PT Assistant in application of hot packs, cold packs and whirlpool, and paraffin baths.
- Participates in conferences with physicians, nurses, and allied medical personnel relating to the physical, emotional, and socio-economic problems affecting the health and welfare of patients.
- Reports need for maintenance or repairs of equipment to Service Supervisor.
- Follows all Hospital’s related policies and procedures.
- Participates in self and others’ education, training, and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties, as required.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy is required.
Experience Required
*Grade 08:
Two (2) years of related experience is required.
*Grade 9:
- Four (4) years as Physical Therapist, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].
Other Requirements(Certificates)
Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
