Summary

Provides administrative support to the Department Head. Assists in planning, organizing and implementing daily operational activities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1.Assesses facility for compliance with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Waste Management and Pest control standards and takes corrective action as required to ensure that standards and operational needs are met.

2.Assists in establishing standards and procedures of work in conjunction with the Managers of Housekeeping, Laundry and the Waste Management Officer.

3.Ensures that all components of the Joint Commission or other relevant accreditation standards related to Environmental Services are known and understood by all staff.

4.Assists in developing, reviewing and revising departmental policies and procedures in conjunction with the appropriate section managers to ensure compliance with KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) standard.

5.Ensures that workplace standards for safety related to infection control and hazardous substances are established and maintained.

6.Assists and coordinates in the development of Department training and career development programs.

7.Monitors and checklists KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) construction and renovation sites.

8.Ensures that annual review and update of KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) requirements for immunization and TB skin testing are completed for all employees in each section under Environmental Services.

9.Establishes, reviews, reports and revises annually with managers and Quality Coordinator the quality indicators for each section in Environmental Services.

10.Acts as Head, Environmental Services, as delegated.

11.Follows all KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) related policies and procedures.

12.Participates in self and other educational training and development as applicable.

13.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospital Administration, Environmental or any related discipline is required

Experience Required

Five ( 5) years of related experience in a Tertiary Healthcare Facility, including two (2) years in a managerial position in Support Services or Environmental Services with Master’s or seven (7) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.
