Provides expert advice and administrative support to the Executive Director in the planning and organizing of the Centre for Genomic Medicine (CGM) overall activities and functions to achieve its mission, goals and objectives and to establish/enhance systems, processes, and productivity.
1. Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring and the updating of CGM goals, objectives, policies and procedures and other official documents as necessary. Ensures that CGM goals are in line with the Organization Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Objectives.
2. Assists in the preparation of CGM annual operating budget in a timely manner, monitors and ensures expenditures of CGM are kept within budget.
3. Advises and serves as a resource person to the higher management on matters pertinent to assigned services/functions, as required.
4. Participates and monitors assigned services/functions by maintaining control and ensuring effective utilization of Organization resources as required.
5. Supports in the development and implementation of management processes, programs, policies, plans and systems that contribute strategically to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the CGM management practices.
6. Creates and maintains effective communication channels with the Organization and/or CGM leadership to facilitate the operational and strategic activities of the Organization, as assigned.
7. Provides timely performance related information/reports and advice to the ED, CGM on the activities and initiatives of CGM, as required.
8. Assists in the development in implementation of various systems necessary to provide complete and accurate records of CGM activities, funds, programs and any other related matters.
9. Participates in manpower planning, recruitment, selection and hiring of personnel for the CGM. Participates in performance evaluation of staff, as assigned.
10. Promotes automation of various activities in CGM and ensures it is consistent with the Organization systemsapplications.
11. Directs the development and installation of various systems necessary to provide complete and accurate records of CGM activities, funds, programs and any other related matters.
12. Delegates authority and establishes a formal means of accountability on the part of CGM leadership.
13. Provides leadership and supervision within CGM group.
14. Chairs and/or serves as member of committees/taskforces, as assigned.
15. Follows all Organization's related Policies and Procedures.
16. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
17. Performs other related duties as assigned
PhD, or Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Administration, Research Administration, or equivalent and Bachelor of Science Degree in scientific discipline is required.
Nine (09) years with PhD or twelve (12) years with Master’s Degree of professionalexperience in the field of management is required, including a minimum of five (5) years managerial/supervisory experience in similar duties and functions of this job in a Hospital setting or a large public organization or fourteen (14) years with Bachelor degree of professional experience in the field of management is required.
