Summary
Operates Angiography/Fluoroscopy (Angio/Fluoro) equipment and assists assigned radiologist in the area.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews exam orders/requisitions and corresponding protocol, and seeks advice of seniors.
- Reviews and evaluates instructions from physicians to complete Angio or Fluoro procedures. Prepares room and checks supplies.
- Selects proper image receptor and image recorder and programs them. Forwards recorded images in proper format to the radiologist for interpretation and assists in image manipulation and archiving.
- Performs operator maintenance on equipment. Informs supervisor of equipment failure or repair needs and documents the same.Performs quality control studies on equipment. Maintains and cleans the room and equipment.
- Assesses inventory and periodically stocks Angio and Fluoro supplies and restores all equipment and supplies for subsequent use.
- Assists in training and supervison of students, interns, and trainees and evaluates their performance.
- Assists radiologist in endovascular laser therapy procedure (EVLT).
- Complies with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Follow the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
- Complies with the Radiation Safety Rules and Regulations of the Hospital in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other National or International Regulatory bodies.
- Applies ALARA principle role within the section practice for all procedures.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological Science/ Technology required for Saudi Nationals or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years) for non-Saudi is required.
Experience Required
Grade 08:
Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or four (4) years with programs is required.
Grade 09:
- Four (4) years as an Angiography/Fluoroscopy Technologist, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Current Registrationfrom country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) isrequired.
- Registration inthe American Registry of Radiographic Technologists of the Canadian Associationof Medical Radiation Technologists or equivalent is required for non-Saudis.
