Summary

Performs high standard of ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and runs ultrasound assessment in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Department. 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1.Reviews exam orders and requisitions and corresponding protocol and asks questions to superiors to prepare for exam as needed.

2.Explains the procedure to the patient. Instructs patient regarding required positions. Assists patient in assuming position.

3.Selects proper technique according to study to obtain proper image depending upon depth of field and area of interest.

4.Communicates with the obstetric consultant in case of abnormalities finding, as needed.

5.Documents all studies performed via viewpoint program which forwards recorded images in the proper format to primatologists or reproductive medicine consultants.

6.Cleans equipment and room after finishing every patient.

7.Performs routine maintenance for ultrasound machine weekly in compliance with (OB/GYN) ultrasound policies and procedures.

8.Coordinates with biomedical engineering for all equipment maintenance and repair.

9.Coordinates with IT and/or the head of primatologist to ensure proper functioning of viewpoint. Reports any problems to ultrasound director.

10.Participates in staff meetings, in-services, and/or continuing education.

11.Documents and records all abnormality cases and presents them weekly to all sonographers upon personal rotation.

12.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

13.Participates in self and others education, training, and development, as applicable.

14.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Radiological Sciences/Technology is required.

Experience Required

*Grade 08:

Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s or four (4) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.

*Grade 09:

-Four (4) years as an Ultrasound Technologist, OBGYN at KFSH&RC.

-Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.

-Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required. 

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
