Performs a range of chemical, microscopic, immunological, and/or bacteriological procedures in the Clinical Laboratory to obtain accurate data for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
1. Organizes daily work congruent with schedules and work patterns of the subsection/section. Assists in the appropriate dissemination of information in intern shift, intersectional, and department communication.
2. Performs products processing, including sampling, cell count, and dose calculation, following standard operating procedures (SOPs). Prepares all required documents for cell dose and calculation. Conducts accurate minor /major manipulation required of assigned products types, meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
3. Maintains complete and accurate records of all HPC products infused, stored, and shipped.
4. Performs and learns the Principle of Autologous Bone Marrow, Autologous Peripheral Blood Stem Cell, Buffy Coat Separation and Cryopreservation.
5. Performs and learns the Principle of Allogenic Bone Marrow, Allogenic Peripheral Blood Stem Cell, Buffy Coat Separation and Cryopreservation.
6. Evaluates the new methodologies/equipment. Assists in the revision of policy and procedure manuals in accordance with specified guidelines.
7. Obtains and processes laboratory specimens. Performs analyses, tests, and procedures and maintains records, as per Hospital established Medical Laboratory standards.
8. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Maintains Quality Control programs of the department.
9. Provides ongoing response/feedback to the Hospital employee performance appraisal system. Trains andprovides continuing education, and guides students and other healthcare personnel, including Residents.
10. Ensures optimum levels of supplies are available to provide interrupted services.
11. Assists in ordering supplies and maintains the supply inventory system. Operates within cost effective practices of the section.
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, or any related discipline is required.
