Summary

Contributes to ensures a safe and proper environment for testing in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab, on the wards, Emergency Room (ER), or any other area as required. Puts the patient at ease, explains procedures to the patient, and prepares the patient. Prepares and uses equipment to record basic and routine clinical measurements, electrocardiograms (ECSs), and rhythm strips.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Participates in providing a safe patient care. Welcomes and communicates appropriately with patient/families and members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates respect and dignity towards patient/families an co-workers of any culture and of any level at all times.
2. Assists in the preparation of clinical equipment as needed to perform the required patient exam and ensures equipment is operated correctly and safely. Implements troubleshooting measures to rectify problems.
3. Orients and prepares the patient for procedures. Remains with the patient during the procedure and after the procedure as required. Ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
4. Measures and records basic, routine, clinical measurements, 12-lead ECGs and rhythm strips as required and as per policy. Informs a senior member of staff of any abnormal readings.
5. Prepares reports for physician review and interpretation. Documents, downloads, stores, retrieves, or edits all relevant information correctly, appropriately and in a timely manner as per policy. Distributes documents as required.
6. Cleans, disinfects and stores clinical equipment and accessories as required or as per policy. Monitors equipment and reports any hazards or needs for repair and maintenance to Senior Cardiovascular Technologist.
7. Assists in maintaining rooms stocked with necessary supplies informing Senior Cardiovascular Technologist when low points reached. Assists with receiving, unpacking and appropriate storage of supplies as required.
8. Ensures working environment is kept safe, clean, and uncluttered at all times. Informs Senior Cardiovascular Technologist or Manager of any maintenance work required, and reports any safety and security issues toa senior member of staff or Manager.
9. Assists with reception duties as required. Responds to phone enquiries following etiquette policy and takes messages as needed to pass on to the appropriate member of staff. Assists non-Arabic staff with Arabic translation as required.
10. Participates in quality improvement activities as assigned. Contributes to the achievement of clinical. Quality outcome indicators including patient satisfaction and service efficiency.
11. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.                                                               
12. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.                                                                                  

Education

Associate Degree /Diploma in vocational/industrial field ,or High School is required.

Experience Required

No experience with Associate Degree /Diploma, or two (2) years of related experience with High School is required. 

Other Requirements(Certificates)

- Basic ECG Interpretation Course Certification preferred.
