The Department of Medicine is one of the hospital’s largest clinical departments with an annual admission of over 1,500 patients. We provide high-quality care to patients right from their admission untiltheir discharge. Our services include gastroenterology, endoscopicprocedures, nephrology, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and dermatology. The department has made invaluable contributions toward clinical care, education, and research and is determined to take a more proactive role in fostering the changes happening in the hospital.

4- Pulmonary Medicine

  • Outpatient services:
    • COPD, Asthma, Sleep Apnea, Lung Fibrosis, Simple and complex pleural effusions,
    • interstitial lung disease, lung cancer diagnosis, lung nodules, and pulmonary hypertension.
  • Inpatient consultation service - Offers procedures to diagnose and treat lung conditions:
    • Fiber optic Bronchoscopy with Bronchoalveolar Lavage
    • Fiber optic Bronchoscopy with Endobronchial and fluoroscopic Transbronchial Biopsy
    • Pulmonary Function Test
    • Polysomnography
    • CT-Guided Pleural and Lung Biopsies
    • Thoracentesis with pleural catheters

5- Critical Care Medicine

  • Running and managing a wide spectrum of medical and post-surgical intensive care cases with an emphasis on high standards and a cutting edge of medical treatment on the arena of critical care medicine.

 

6- Internal Medicine

7- Endocrinology

  • Special Service - Admission of Radioactive iodine therapy for thyroid cancer

    • endocrine protocol and DPU for dynamic testing and IV medication

 

8- Infectious Diseases

  • Special services
    • acquired immunodeficiency clinic and immunocompromised clinic
    • Daily consultation service for various community acquired and health care associated infections in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients including ER, CTU, cardiac, surgical, ICU, OBS/Gyn, Oncology/Hematology, solid organ transplant and hematological transplant and HIV patients.

9- Dermatology

  • Inpatient consultation and treats variety of cutaneous diseases, and specialized in treating the following:
    • Cutaneous malignancies including but not limited to Cutaneous T cell lymphoma, melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers
    • Autoimmune conditions such as lupus, localized scleroderma and morphea, and dermatomyositis.
    • Inflammatory disorders such as psoriasis, psoriasis arthritis, lichen planus, pyoderma gangrenosum.
    • Hair and nail diseases such as alopecia areata
    • Drug induced and viral exanthems
    • Warts
    • Ache
    • Pediatric dermatology including hemangiomas, port wine stains and genetic disorders
    • Photosensitive disorders such as polymorphus light eruption and solar urticarial
    • Urticaria
    • Allergic contact dermatitis
