KFSH&RC represented by Family medicine Department, has achieved the seventh level in electronic medical record application according to the worldwide standard of (HIMSS) Health Information Management Systems Society to be the first hospital outside of North America to reach the highest stage in the HIMSS EMR Adoption Model.

Health Information Management Systems Society classifies hospitals which have improved healthcare and patient experience through the use of advanced information technology and electronic management systems, and it is distinguished by accurate standards for assessment which begin from zero to seventh level as the highest level in this classification.

And lately a team from the association visited KFSH&RC, this team made a comprehensive assessment to evaluate the Hospital’s sophisticated IT systems and user applications, and according to that the association granted the hospital the seventh level.

The Chief Executive Officer  of  KFSH&RC  Dr. Qasim AL Qasabi said: this achievement comes as a result of the efforts by the institution in the framework of its commitment to provide the highest levels of health care for patients service by employing the latest and the most development techniques, pointing out that this achievement would not fulfill without God help first , and the great effort  dedication in this strategic project by all staff of the institution and their cooperation, specially who work in the Health Information Technology Affairs, and in the Department of Family Medicine, and Nursing Affairs.   

And he mentioned that the institution is  distinguished by the availabilities of qualified cadres in various fields supported by latest technical and health applications, and that what qualified the institution to reach the top in this field, conforming that the institution concerned in electronic techniques fields of the health-care services specialties in the main hospital in Riyadh, and its branch in Jeddah and put it within its strategic priorities to improve quality and safety levels  of providing advanced Specialist medical care effectively confirming that the institution will continue to seek in employment everything that serve  the patient and create a safe work environment for all.

From his side, Dr.Osama AL Alswailem director of Health Information Technology Affairs, expressed his happiness with this achievement explaining  that the classification is considered as result of long efforts to rebuild the work procedures in the organization and to use of information technology as main tool to improve the quality of medical documentation  and quick and effective communication between health workers to provide integrated medical service with high quality, pointing that  KFSH&RC invested effectively during the last two decades in building a strong IT infrastructure which able to keep up with the leadership programs in the hospital.
