In Saudi Arabia, the government has also paid close attention to open data as one of the main pillars towards building a governmental database that provides transparency, and encourage public participation in building online content as well as enhancing creativity.
King Faisal specialist hospital & research center initiative:
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center has launched its own “open data” initiative. The initiative is an information platform titled ”open data library”, which will allow online visitors to the hospital’s electronic portal to benefit from published information and find out about some pre-defined topics.
The platform has many advanced technical and search features which makes it easy to locate certain information, visitors can use the search features and download and share information without any restrictions.
The platform has been equipped with up to date technical features that process the information in an advanced manner and has the capacity to convert data into infographics. These features will help users to compare information and utilize them in the best possible way.
The platform allows users to connect data with different format to view them in any desired format:
XLS files
CSV
JSON
The platform provides instruction for API into various solutions using HTTP method (HTTP API).
The HTTP can be used to fetch data depends on year selected from our server.

BioMolecular Research Program Database
The BioMolecular Research Database gained both national and international recognition. The program focuses on a medically important family of genes that code for what are called AU-rich messenger RNAs (mRNAs). These code for many proteins that are critical in maintaining healthy transient reactions during the body responses such as immune response and cellular growth. Disturbances in these transient processes may lead to unwanted prolonged responses and thus diseases, such as chronic inflammation and cancer. Thus, the program implements laboratory studies of this area in different disease conditions and pinpoint pathways that can be targeted for therapy. The research program employs the fields of functional genomics, functional proteomics, and molecular therapeutics to achieve its aim by narrowing the human transcriptome and proteome to early and transient response players. Using unique tools specific to the study of mRNA stability and/or translation that are developed solely by our program, our platform is internationally recognized as attested by the publications, collaborations, and grants.
