Radiology is the science that deals with the use of radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes in medicine. Radiologic technologists, or radiographers, are the terms applied to individuals qualified to use radiation sources to produce images of the parts of the body for interpretation by a physician known as a radiologist.
Radiology Department includes the following sections: General Radiography (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasonography (US), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Positron Emission Tomography ( PET ) and Interventional Radiology (Angiography and Fluoroscopy). In King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFHS&RC), Radiology Department provides the interns with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge along with the clinical practice using a detailed program for every section.
For one (1) year rotation, General, the internship program will include all sections: General Radiography (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasonography (US), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Positron Emission Tomography ( PET ) and Interventional Radiology (Angiography and Fluoroscopy).
For one (1) year rotation, Diagnostic, the internship will include: General Radiography (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Interventional Radiology (Angiography and Fluoroscopy).
For one (1) year rotation, Nuclear Medicine specialty, the internship will include: Nuclear Medicine (NM) and Positron Emission Tomography ( PET )
For one (1) year rotation, Interventional radiology specialty, the internship will include: General Radiography (X-ray), and Interventional Radiology (Angiography and Fluoroscopy).
